Presenting the Clean Air Green Paper to Commemorate the International Day of Clean Air
During the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on 26 November 2019, the UN adopted a resolution to designate 7 September as the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, with the first commemoration took place on 7 September, 2020.
To support and reinforce the importance of this designated day, Thailand Clean Air Network (Thai CAN) takes this opportunity to launch the newly published e-book titled Clean Air Green Paper: Interdisciplinary Research to Propose Policy-led Solutions for Clean Air, which can be found on Thai CAN’s website at thailandcan.org
The newly published Clean Air Green Paper is a culmination of the continued research work by Thai CAN’s experts following the previous two publications, namely
Both of those publications formed the basis for this Clean Air Green Paper, which discusses the ways in which Thailand can overcome the structural issues to sustainably enable clean air for everyone in the country. The Clean Air Green Paper is jointly developed by a team of interdisciplinary experts, integrating the knowledge from various contributing aspects to propose policy-led solutions most suitable to Thailand’s context
Together, the three publications form a complete set of concept papers aimed at educating the public on the causes, impacts, and solutions to Thailand’s air pollution problems
In the next phase, Thai CAN plans to conduct online webinars with relevant stakeholders to share the Clean Air Green Paper and to exchange ideas for the benefits of collaboratively driving the clean air movement forward in Thailand.
